Independent insurance broker Lockton has announced a global collaboration initiative with food science company Campden BRI to provide the food and drink industry with key risk mitigation support and build resilience in an evolving risk landscape.
A number of threats have been affecting the food and drink industry in recent years, these include supply chain disruption and spiralling costs to the impact of inflation, scarcity of crucial resources, labour shortages, and changes in both regulations and consumer demands.
To meet these challenges experts believe insight and risk management solutions are imperative, something that will also help businesses build resilience, and continue to trade successfully.
As part of this initiative, Lockton will become a member of Campden BRI and collaborate on various key topics and research initiatives.
The first of those being a new position paper seeking to address the growing global problem of food fraud, which is exacerbated by the recent supply chain frictions and raw ingredient shortages.
Luke Withers, Lockton’s Food and Drink Industry Leader in the UK, stated: “With thousands of members in the UK and around the world, Campden BRI is the leading and most trusted technical partner for the food and drink industry, and we are proud to collaborate with them to enhance our shared understanding and solutions for the sector.
“Lockton is a broker of choice for the industry and our industry practice group is laser-focused on delivering solutions and innovation for our food and drink clients. We are looking forward to working with Campden BRI on this and other risks to strengthen the sector’s response.”
Bertrand Emond, Membership Ambassador from Campden BRI, said: “We are excited to have Lockton as a member and to collaborate with them on critical issues for the industry. Their specialist understanding of the risks the industry faces and their global expertise in mitigation measures add great value to our membership.”
