Markel adds Mullarkey as Global Executive Underwriting Officer, Property & First Party Lines

Markel, the insurance arm of global re/insurer Markel Group Inc., has appointed Jamie Mullarkey to the role of Global Executive Underwriting Officer for Property and First Party Lines.
In this global role, Mullarkey will lead the strategy for property and first-party lines, supporting multiple initiatives and cross-division opportunities.
Additionally, he will be responsible for shaping the underwriting strategy and vision for these product lines, fostering collaboration across the organisation.
Mullarkey brings over 15 years of insurance experience, including holding roles in the broker side of the business with Marsh and underwriting leadership roles at other carriers.

This appointment follows a series of hires by the firm including appointing Rhys O’Neill as Senior Underwriter, Marine & Energy Liability, International Specialty and Grant Smith, Director of Marine & Energy Liability, International Specialty recently.
