Markel names former Allianz exec to underwriting role

Markel, the insurance operations of Markel Group Inc., Thursday named Jamie Mullarkey, formerly with Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE, as global executive underwriting officer for property and first-party lines.

He succeeds Guenter Kryszon, who was named chief underwriting officer of Markel Specialty last year and reports to Robin Russo, executive vice president – insurance.

New York-based Mr. Mullarkey previously was global industry sector leader – CUO, property at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE.
