Markel names Joanna Quigan as Senior Underwriter, PFR

Markel Insurance, the insurance arm of Markel Group Inc., has announced the appointment of Joanna Quigan as Senior Underwriter, Professional and Financial Risks (PFR).

Based in Melbourne, Quigan will report to Kym Beazleigh, Head of Professional and Financial Risks.

In her new role, she will be responsible for developing and managing underwriting strategies for both renewing and new business within Markel’s PFR portfolio in Australia, with a particular focus on Professional Indemnity.

Quigan brings nearly two decades of industry experience across broking and underwriting in Financial Lines, specialising in Professional Indemnity and Cyber insurance.

She joins Markel from Delta Insurance Group, where she spent almost six years, most recently as Senior Liability Underwriter & Cyber Product Lead. In that role, she was responsible for setting cyber underwriting guidelines, innovating products, and establishing growth strategies.

Earlier in her career, she held leadership roles at firms including AIG, the Insurance Council of New Zealand, and Marsh.
