McGowan acquires professional liability specialist

Managing general underwriter McGowan Cos., based in Fairview Park, Ohio, said Tuesday it has acquired the assets of Arbanas & Associates, which specializes in writing professional liability, including for accountants, lawyers and architects.

McGowan said in a statement that the staff of its McGowanPro unit, which writes professional liability, will remain in place after the transaction.

Arbanas is based in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan.
