McKeon to head Ascot’s US Middle Market Loss Sensitive Casualty

Ascot, a Bermuda-domiciled global specialty insurer, has appointed Christopher McKeon to lead the company’s new U.S. Middle Market Loss Sensitive Casualty segment.

Reporting to David Zimmerman, Executive Vice President, Primary Casualty, McKeon will be managing the development of strategic and tactical initiatives to drive a profitable loss sensitive Middle Market Primary Casualty strategy.

His responsibilities will also include the oversight of product expansion, distribution management, and operational efficiency enhancements.

Ascot’s U.S. growth plans within its Primary Casualty offering are centred around expansion in the Middle Market segment to better serve the needs of medium-sized commercial clients, an initiative overseen by Zimmerman.

The initiative will harness the depth of Ascot’s existing products, coupled with McKeon’s knowledge in the space, to provide loss sensitive products to this growing segment of U.S. companies.

Prior to joining Ascot, McKeon served at Everest, most recently as Senior Vice President, Commercial Casualty & Risk Management.

During this time, he led Everest’s primary casualty underwriting operations focused on middle market and large multinational clients.

Commenting on McKeon’s appointment, Matt Kramer, Ascot U.S. CEO, said: “At Ascot, we continue to look for opportunities to be a more perfect partner to our clients – including those in the loss sensitive space, where clients face evolving exposures as their commercial entities grow.

“Chris’ significant experience and knowledge of the segment will ensure that Ascot can provide our Casualty clients with the dedicated suite of products, specialized expertise, speed, flexibility, and service to best meet their unique needs.”
