MGA Fusion hires longtime exec for US operations

Managing general agency Fusion Specialty Insurance Pty Ltd. said Wednesday it has hired former consultant and Ryan Specialty Group Inc. executive Steven J. England to lead a newly formed U.S.-based insurance unit.

As executive vice president and partner for Fusion Specialty Americas Insurance Services LLC, based in Houston, Mr. England will be responsible for growing mergers and acquisitions insurance and other specialty lines across North America, Fusion said.

Mr. England has held senior executive roles at various insurance industry firms. Most recently he was president and CEO of Global Special Risks LLC, part of Ryan Specialty.

Fusion is a subsidiary of POP International Holdings Pty Ltd., a managing general agency platform based in Sydney.
