Specialty managing general agency Rokstone Group Ltd., which is part of Aventum Group Ltd., on Monday named Jordan Lanford, formerly with American International Group Inc., as global head of aviation for a new facility backed by Allianz Commercial.
Based in Atlanta, Mr. Lanford will join Rokstone later this month. He previously served as head of aerospace for North America at AIG.
The facility will focus on small, midsize business, including light aircraft, commercial aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles; commercial general liability for airports, fixed base operators and service providers; and manufacturers products liability for non-critical component providers.
Mr. Lanford will initially focus on North America and developing the MGA’s existing portfolio in the Middle East, a Rokstone statement said.
The collaboration will allow Allianz to further expand its reach into previously untapped sectors, Dave Warfel, regional head of aviation for North America at Allianz Commercial, part of Allianz SE, said in the statement.
Rokstone plans to make further hires as it builds out the facility. The MGA currently writes $1 billion in gross written premiums in several specialty lines including property, power generation, marine, aviation, warranty, credit and surety treaty, agriculture, construction and engineering, accident and health and liability, according to the statement.
