MGT Insurance launches E&S company

MGT Insurance Co. said Thursday it had formed an excess and surplus insurer and recruited a former Hiscox Ltd. digital insurance specialist to head the unit.

MGT Specialty will focus on hard-to-place risks for small businesses, Greenwood Village, Colorado-based MGT Insurance said in a statement.

Chad Nitschke was named general manager of the unit. Most recently, he was senior vice president, digital strategy and execution, at Hiscox.

Previously, he worked at various insurtech companies, including  Vouch Inc. and Bunker Protect Inc.
