Michigan bill seeks comp cover for employees injured in labor strike

A bill was introduced in the Michigan state Senate on Thursday providing workers compensation coverage for employees injured in a labor strike.

S.B. 917 specifically provides that personal injuries related to the actions of a security company acting on behalf of the employee’s employer be presumed to have arisen out of and in the course of employment.

The partisan bill was referred to the Committee on Government Operations, where it is pending.
