Mosaic hires former Liberty Mutual environmental team

Bermuda-based Mosaic Insurance Holdings Ltd. announced Tuesday it added 13 risk specialists to its environmental liability team, 11 of whom are former Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. and subsidiary Ironshore Insurance employees.

Mosaic’s environmental liability team, its seventh line of business, launched less than two years ago, now consists of 20 members in Canada and the U.S., the announcement said.

New York-based Thomas Duggan, previously Ironshore’s chief claims officer, environmental, was named Mosaic’s head of environmental claims.

The risk specialists added to the team include Atlanta-based Assistant Vice President Iraj Dehnavi, formerly a production underwriting officer at Ironshore; Boston-based Senior Vice President Maureen Domenicone, previously senior vice president and product line manager of environmental at Ironshore; Chicago-based Vice President Patrick Enderlin, former site pollution incident legal liability select product line manager at Liberty Mutual; Boston-based Senior Vice President Patrick Grassl, previously a senior vice president at Ironshore; Philadelphia-based Senior Vice President Max Horn, former SPILLS product line manager for Liberty Mutual and Ironshore; New York-based Senior Vice President Noelle MacDonald, previously vice president, New York regional pollution manager at Ironshore; Atlanta-based Senior Vice President Karen Reilly, formerly a senior director, pollution at Liberty Mutual; New York-based Senior Vice President Rob Stedman, previously vice president, New York regional environmental casualty manager at Ironshore Insurance; New Orleans-based Vice President Melissa Sweeney, a former senior production specialist at Ironshore; and New York-based Assistant Vice President Sophia Terzulli, a former executive underwriter at Liberty Mutual.

Philadelphia-based Senior Vice President Dan Weber, previously vice president at Twin Elms Environmental Brokerage, and Denver-based Vice President Vesta Zavistauskaite, a former assistant vice president, environmental at Ascot Group, were also added to Mosaic’s environmental liability team.

In July, Mosaic hired Toby Smith, previously Liberty Mutual’s chief underwriting officer for North America specialty lines division, as its Americas CEO.
