Mosaic hires former Liberty Mutual executive as Americas CEO

Bermuda-based Mosaic Insurance Holdings Ltd. Tuesday named Toby Smith, previously chief underwriting officer of Liberty Mutual Insurance Co.’s North America specialty lines division, as its Americas CEO

New York-based Mr. Smith will join the specialty insurer’s leadership team with responsibility for the United States, Canada and the wider Americas region, a Mosaic statement said.

Mr. Smith joined Liberty Mutual through its 2017 acquisition of Ironshore Inc.

Mosaic, was launched in 2021 by former Ironshore executives Mitch Blaser and Mark Wheeler.
