Lloyd’s global re/insurer MS Amlin has launched a new team and business class, Partnerships, to refine its distribution strategy and explore growth opportunities across established and emerging markets.
According to MS Amlin, the Partnerships team, which will complement its existing Insurance and Reinsurance divisions, will operate as an arm of the CUO office and be separately resourced to support product and distribution innovation and respond to emerging distribution trends.
The new team being built will reportedly be led by Sam Geddes, Deputy Chief Underwriting Officer, with Underwriting run by Simon Morgan, Head of Property and Allied Lines.
“The new Partnerships team will act as a focal point for the execution of opportunities with the likes of MS&AD Ventures, MS Transverse, and the broader MS&AD Group network, through which a series of risk-sharing initiatives are being explored,” MS Amlin said.
The firm also highlighted that the new team will oversee and further develop existing opportunities, including its involvement in several high-profile London market facilities, a series of algorithmic fast-follow partnerships, and the Lloyd’s Innovation and Transition risk codes.
Martin Burke, Chief Underwriting Officer, MS Amlin, commented, “We’re seeing more exciting distribution opportunities presented to us from within the MS&AD network as well as the broader market, so it makes sense to mirror these distribution developments with a dedicated unit where we can give existing and new potential partnerships the time and attention they need.
“As we extend our footprint in the market at a product and distribution level, our brokers can expect more dynamic conversations about how we will grow our business and support our mutual clients.”
