MSIG names chief actuary, chief risk officer

MSIG USA, the Warren, New Jersey-based unit of Japanese insurer Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Co. Ltd., Wednesday named Tony Beirne as chief actuary and Dale James as chief risk officer.

Both Mr. Beirne and Mr. James will report to CEO Peter McKenna.

Mr. Beirne most recently was chief actuary at Cover Whale Insurance Solutions Inc. Prior to that, he was chief actuary and product officer at VoyageWorks, a commercial auto data and analytics company.

Mr. James most recently was chief risk officer and vice president, corporate finance at Alleghany Corp. Prior to that, he held various roles at Goldman Sachs, JMMB Group Ltd. and NCB Insurance.
