Muhamed Majeed named Chief Actuary at Oceanview Re

Oceanview Reinsurance Ltd., a subsidiary of Oceanview Holdings Ltd., has announced the appointment of Muhamed Majeed, F.S.A., F.C.I.A., as its Chief Actuary, effective 20 January 2025.

In this role, Majeed will lead Oceanview Re’s actuarial operations, encompassing product development, pricing strategy, and risk management.

With more than 15 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance sectors, Majeed brings extensive expertise in actuarial science, financial modelling, and product innovation.

Majeed joins Oceanview from Securian Canada, where he held the role of Assistant Vice President, Product and Pricing. In this position, he led a team of actuaries responsible for developing and pricing new products while managing a diverse portfolio of insurance offerings.

Before his tenure at Securian, he held senior positions at Oliver Wyman and Sun Life Financial, where he built expertise in capital management, regulatory compliance, and actuarial modeling.

Mr. Majeed is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. He earned an Honours Bachelor of Mathematics degree in Actuarial Science and Finance from the University of Waterloo.
