Munich Re Specialty Insurance, a unit of Munich Reinsurance Co., Thursday named former American International Group Inc. claims leader Peter Macdonald chief claims officer.
He succeeds Mary Beth McClellan, who will become group claims director for Munich Re Specialty – global markets.
Hartford, Connecticut-based Mr. Macdonald previously was head of casualty claims, North America General Insurance at AIG. Prior to that, he held various claims roles at Hartford Financial Services Group Inc.
Mr. Macdonald will report to Sabrina Hart, president and CEO of Munich Re Specialty – North America. He will also become a member of the Munich Re Specialty – North America leadership team.
