Munich Re’s Lüers joins Gallagher Re’s Global Credit, Surety, and Political Risk practice group

Reinsurance broker Gallagher Re has announced the appointment of Karsten Lüers to its Munich office as Regional Director – Credit, Surety and Political Risk.

Lüers is joining the company from Munich Re, where he served as Senior Underwriter for over two decades.

“Karsten brings over 23 years of experience in the Credit, Surety, and Political Risk reinsurance sector. His extensive knowledge and expertise in this field make him exceptionally well-suited to not only support our existing client base but also to lead efforts in growing our presence across key markets,” a Gallagher Re spokesperson stated.

Lüers’ hire is the latest for Gallagher Re this year and follows the appointment of  Mathieu Loisel as Lead for Casualty & Motor for EMEA and Coordinator for the International Casualty Practice Group (ICPG).

Additionally, earlier in the month, the reinsurer announced the promotion of Ben Wathen to lead its Global Claims Advocacy team as Chief Claims Officer.
