Newfront hires venture capital leader from Hub

Insurtech brokerage Newfront Insurance Inc. has hired former Hub International Ltd. executive Adam Johnson as senior vice president and leader of its venture capital practice.

Mr. Johnson has expertise in insuring venture capital, including portfolio companies and private equity funds and was previously regional sales officer for the Bay area for Hub, San Francisco-based Newfront said Wednesday.

Mr. Johnson will report to Tom Whitenight, executive vice president at Newfront.

Newfront, which has more than 700 employees, combined with established brokerage ABD Insurance and Financial Services Inc. in July.
