OAK Re unveils new organisational structure to drive future growth

Global reinsurance provider OAK Reinsurance has announced an enhanced organisational structure, building upon its successful launch in November 2024.
Since January 1, 2025, OAK has achieved significant success, successfully writing approximately $400m of gross written premium at its target expected profitability.
This positive global reception has led to a client base that exceeds 400 and a growing team of nearly 50 staff across Underwriting, Capital & Risk and Finance & Operations.
In a recent move, OAK has appointed a number of underwriting leadership roles across its three segments of Property, Specialty and Credit, under the leadership of Cathal Carr as Group CUO.
These appointments include Sarah Walcott’s, who now serves as Director of Underwriting, Property. She will be responsible for property lines including property catastrophe, property specialty & property per risk; reporting to James Irvine, CUO, OAK Re.
Conrad Williams has been appointed Director of Underwriting, and will be responsible for specialty lines including marine, energy, political violence & cyber; reporting to James Irvine, CUO, OAK Re.
Karen Barker will be joining OAK Re in the fourth quarter of 2025 as Director of Underwriting, Credit. Reporting to Tom Dickson, President, Innovation Strategies, her responsibilities will include credit lines such as conventional credit (single-name, whole turnover, ECAs), political risk, and surety.
Additionally, a number of underwriters will assume cross segment roles, including Head of Ceded, Ciara Svensen, who has been tasked with the strategic planning and execution of ceded across all classes of business. She will be reporting to Alex Winfield – Chief Capital Officer & Head of Strategy.
Tom Morgan was named Head of Business Development, and will be responsible for management of strategic assumed relationships with distribution partners and global multiclass clients; reporting to Roland Morse – Managing Director, London.
