Obsidian hires former Swiss Re exec for chief underwriting officer role

Fronting insurance holding company Obsidian Insurance Holdings Inc. on Tuesday said former Swiss Re Ltd. executive Jeff Wittlich has been named chief underwriting officer.

He will be based in Schaumburg, Illinois, and report to CEO Bill Jewett, according to an email from a spokesman.

Mr. Wittlich was most recently head of the regional and national MGA practice at Swiss Re. 

He replaces Andrew Aldorisio, who left the company earlier in the year, the spokesman’s email said.
