The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation is proposing a 10% rate cut for private employers that would take effect July 1.
BWC CEO and Administrator Stephanie McCloud said in a statement that the proposed rate reduction “confirms the dedication and hard work Ohio’s private employers have toward workplace safety.”
The BWC board of directors will consider the rate reduction during a Feb. 25 meeting.
If approved, employers throughout the state would cumulatively pay $106 million less in premiums in the next fiscal year.
