Origin Specialty Underwriters launches captive division

Managing General Agent (MGA) Origin Specialty, a specialist in restaurant, hospitality, and construction industries and partner company of Beyond Risk, has announced the formation of Origin Captive Solutions.

Led by Daniel Rossen as Managing Director, the new division has been created to bring captive solutions to middle market companies by offering a broader array of risk management solutions.

Partnering with its sister company, GPW & Associates, Inc., the company will leverage its multidisciplinary team of underwriters, actuaries, CPAs, and captive professionals to provide comprehensive captive creation and execution services.

Its initial focus will be to bring property solutions that are fronted by AM Best rated paper, thereby allowing captives to take risk while satisfying most lender requirements.

Rossen commented: “There are many customers willing to retain risk in their property programs but are limited by lender requirements. We are excited to use Origin Captive Solutions to enable these clients to take risk rather than trading dollars with an insurance carrier”.
