OSHA, FDA create food processing checklist for COVID-19

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration have released a checklist to help food manufacturers keep their employees safe during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, OSHA announced in a statement.   

The checklist includes information about investigating employee heath, configuring work environments to minimize the potential spread of the virus and examples of how to align workstations to accommodate social distancing practices.

OSHA noted that the checklist can be used by food processing facilities in conjunction with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s more specific guidance for agriculture and meat and poultry processing workers.
