Partner Re hires chief actuarial and risk officer

Partner Re said Thursday that Sima Ruparelia, who had held the position of chief actuary for an American International Group Inc. unit, will join the reinsurer, effective June 27, as chief actuarial and risk officer, the company said. 

PartnerRe said Ms. Ruparelia, who will be London-based, will be responsible for risk and capital, non-life reserving and pricing and life reserving (2nd line). She will report to PartnerRe President and CEO Jacques Bonneau as a member of the company’s executive leadership. 

She was the chief actuary and portfolio manager for the U.K., Europe, global specialty and Talbot, the Europe legal entity for AIG, from 2016 to 2021, PartnerRe said. 

Ms. Ruparelia was among the Business Insurance 2018 Women to Watch EMEA.
