Pennsylvania bill would require up to $250 per month for cannabis

Pennsylvania employers would be required to reimburse injured workers up to $250 per month for cannabis under a bill introduced Monday.

According to H.B. 1766, workers requesting reimbursement would have to be registered with the Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana Program.

The bill also would qualify injured workers for reimbursement of the fee to obtain and renew the identification card required to participate in the state’s medical cannabis program.

The state charges $50 for medical cannabis patient ID cards. Doctors approved by the Department of Health to certify qualifying conditions typically charge between $100 and $350.

The Pennsylvania House of Representatives is on recess until Sept. 22.
