Pinpoint UK now FCA-authorised as Appointed Representative of Resolution Underwriting

Pinpoint UK Solutions Ltd, the UK-based MGA of AM Specialty Insurance Group, has officially launched operations in the UK after being appointed as an Appointed Representative (AR) of Resolution Underwriting Partnership Ltd.

As an AR—a regulated status that allows firms to carry out specific financial activities under the supervision and license of a fully authorised principal—Pinpoint UK is now authorised to conduct regulated insurance business in accordance with Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) rules.

This appointment marks the beginning of Pinpoint UK’s commercial activity, supported by AM Specialty Insurance Group, a Dallas-based provider of specialty insurance solutions.

The company will focus on delivering underwriting services within the UK and London specialty insurance market.

Operating under the regulatory framework of Resolution Underwriting, which is authorised and overseen by the FCA, Pinpoint UK benefits from a solid compliance structure. This allows the firm to offer and underwrite insurance products while ensuring full adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.

The launch also plays a key role in AM Specialty’s strategy to expand its footprint beyond North America. By setting up Pinpoint UK, the group is positioning itself closer to UK-based clients and brokers, offering greater accessibility to its specialty underwriting expertise.

Pinpoint UK’s London operations are led by Chief Underwriting Officer Darren Powell, who brings over 30 years of experience from organisations such as RSA and Allied World.

With a seasoned team in place and the support of AM Specialty’s A– rated capacity, the firm aims to provide effective and customised insurance solutions across a range of specialty lines.
