Program manager adds division, hires former Intact surety specialists

Program manager Distinguished Programs Insurance Brokerage LLC Monday launched a commercial surety division, which will be led by two former Intact Insurance Co. underwriters.

The division expects to begin underwriting this quarter, a Distinguished Programs statement said.

Boston-based Miguel Ferreira will lead the commercial surety division as president, and Berlin, Connecticut-based Brian Peters will be vice president, the statement said.

Mr. Ferreira was most recently senior vice president, commercial surety, at Intact. Before joining Intact in 2012, he worked in surety at Ace Ltd. and Marsh LLC.

Mr. Peters was senior underwriter, surety, at Intact and had previously worked at Willis Towers Watson PLC.
