QBE appoints Andrea Marega as European Product Manager for Professional Indemnity

QBE, a global insurance and reinsurance company, has appointed Andrea Marega as European Product Manager for Professional Indemnity, a newly created role aimed at supporting updates to its underwriting operations.

Marega joins QBE from Allianz Commercial, where he served as Senior Global Financial Lines Underwriter in Munich, Germany. Effective January 20, he has relocated to Milan, Italy, to take on this new role.

He began his insurance career in 2000 as a Financial Lines Underwriter at AIG in Milan. In 2002, Marega joined ACE (now Chubb), taking on roles such as Financial Lines Manager for Italy, expanding to Southern Europe, and later becoming Professional Indemnity Manager for EMEA. In 2019, he joined Allianz Commercial’s Chief Underwriting Office.

In his position at QBE, Marega will be responsible for shaping and growing the company’s European Professional Indemnity portfolio.

Reporting to Naintara Agarwal, QBE’s Europe Director of Underwriting and Portfolio Management, Agarwal commented: “With Andrea on board, we are looking to further our reach in the Professional Indemnity practice across Europe.

“Andrea has an  impressive track record in PI and his cross-country European experience will help us to enhance our service to our customers and brokers while improving QBE’s presence in this important portfolio. He’s a great addition to the team and I am thrilled to have him on board.”
