QBE hires construction leader from Liberty Mutual

QBE North America said Monday it has hired former Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. underwriting leader Ryan Powers as senior vice president and head of construction.

He reports to Mike Foley, president of commercial insurance, in the newly created role.

Mr. Powers, who is based in Boston, previously served as chief underwriting officer at Liberty Mutual.

He will lead the establishment of a coordinated underwriting approach and plan, direct and execute the strategy for casualty lines in construction.
