QBE offering media liability endorsement

QBE North America said Tuesday it introduced a media liability endorsement to provide coverage for media organizations facing legal actions under consumer protection laws.

The endorsement provides affirmative coverage to media companies should the laws be applied to challenge them from engaging in free speech under the First Amendment. Consumer protection laws are designed to safeguard consumers from false, deceptive or unfair business practices.

The expanded coverage offers limits up to $500,000 and covers legal defense costs and potential losses.
