Rate hikes accelerate in several lines, but not commercial property: Ivans

Premium renewal rate increases accelerated in several lines of coverage in November, but slowed in commercial property, according to a report Thursday from Ivans Insurance Services, a unit of Applied Systems Inc.

Commercial property rose 10.98%, down from 11.24% in October.

In other lines, commercial auto rose 9.86%, compared with 9.62%; business owners policy rates increased 8.95%, compared with 8.72%; umbrella was up 8.71%, compared with 8.49%; and general liability was up 3.89%, unchanged from October.

Workers compensation rates fell 1.52%, compared with a 1.43% decrease in October.
