Relation Insurance Services buys two South Carolina agencies

Relation Insurance Services Inc. announced the acquisition of two South Carolina agencies in separate deals.
The Walnut Creek, California-based brokerage said in a statement Wednesday that it had acquired the assets of Lexington, South Carolina-based Perry Insurance Group Inc., a personal and commercial lines agency.
The acquisition expands Relation’s small commercial, middle-market commercial and personal lines coverages across South Carolina.
All of Perry’s 12 employees, and David Perry, founder of the agency, will join Relation. Founded in 1998, Perry has offices in Chapin, Columbia, Lexington and Swansea, South Carolina.
On Thursday, Relation said it had purchased Columbia, South Carolina-based Pitts Insurance Team LLC. Pitts is a personal and commercial lines agency with around eight employees, according to its website.
Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.
Private-equity-owned Relation, is the 39th largest brokerage of U.S. business, according to Business Insurance’s latest ranking.
