RIMS announces 2025 awards and honors

The Risk & Insurance Management Society Inc. announced Tuesday the winners of a series of awards and honors issued to outstanding chapters and risk professionals.

The society issued its highest honor, the Harry and Dorothy Goodell Award, to Aon PLC Executive Vice President, Enterprise Client Partner Randy Nornes. The award pays tribute to an individual who has furthered the goals of RIMS and risk management through outstanding service.

Neil Colclough, vice president of risk management at Sage Hospitality Group, received the Volunteer of the Year Award. Mr. Colclough is also president of the RIMS Rocky Mountain chapter and chair of the RIMS diversity equity and inclusion advisory group.

Megan Smalter, market development executive at Lloyd’s, won the RIMS Rising Star Award, which is given to up-and-coming risk professionals under 35 years of age or who have seven or less years of professional experience in the industry.

The RIMS Chapter of the Year Award was given to RIMS Greater Bluegrass Chapter in Louisville for delivering exceptional resources, programming and opportunities to its members. The award was accepted by chapter president Erica Kiefer, associate manager at YUM! Brands Inc.

The RIMS Detroit Chapter won the RIMS Diversity Equity and Inclusion Chapter Leadership Award for taking intentional and exceptional action in the area.

The society also honored its chapters in Atlanta and Oregon for aligning their programming with RIMS strategic priorities to innovate, develop, engage and advocate for the global risk management community.
