Risk Strategies hires long-time university risk manager

Risk Strategies Co. on Thursday named Steve Bryant, who previously headed risk management for the Texas Tech University System, as a managing director and higher education risk management leader.

Lubbock, Texas-based Mr. Bryant will collaborate with the Boston-based brokerage’s regional and practice leaders to offer insurance and risk management services to higher education institutions, according to a statement from Risk Strategies, which is the trading name of RSC Insurance Brokerage Inc.

Mr. Bryant began his career as a broker and joined Texas Tech in 2002, where he was managing director of the office of risk management.
