Robert Malone named Head of AXA XL’s Large Accounts & Portfolio Management for Cyber, Americas

AXA XL, the property and casualty (P&C) and specialty risk division of global insurer AXA, has appointed Robert Malone as Head of Large Accounts and Portfolio Management of its Cyber Insurance team in the Americas.

Based in New York, Malone reports to Michelle Chia, Chief Underwriting Officer for Cyber, Select and Design Professional.

He will drive strategy and growth for AXA XL’s large account cyber insurance portfolio, focusing on both new and renewal business.

His portfolio management responsibilities include overseeing performance metrics for the Americas’ cyber insurance portfolio, leveraging data analytics, and conducting regular reviews to adapt to the evolving cyber landscape.

Malone will lead the Large Account cyber underwriting team and AXA XL’s recently assembled Middle Market and Wholesale cyber underwriting teams.

Prior to his appointmnet, Malone was the Vice President and Head of Middle Markets for Professional Liability & Cyber at Zurich North America overseeing the growth and strategy execution of the Middle Markets portfolio segment.

Malone has previously served as a commercial cybersecurity strategy consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton and held Underwriting positions at Zurich, Axis Capital, and Travelers, where he developed expertise in Cyber Liability and Directors & Officers Liability underwriting.
