RT Specialty bolsters leadership team amidst expansion plans

RT Specialty, the wholesale distribution division of Ryan Specialty, has restructured its leadership team with senior appointments effective October 1st, 2024.
Seth Johnson will become the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of RT Binding Authority. He has been with the firm since 2019, following the Atlantic Specialty Lines acquisition, and has been President of RT Binding since 2021.
Under Johnson’s leadership, RT Binding has experienced tremendous growth while producing profitable business for its carrier trading partners. RT Binding underwrites three specialities: commercial lines, personal lines, and transportation.
Jonathan Reiner has been appointed as CEO of RT Specialty’s National Professional and Executive Liability Practice (RT ProExec). He has been with the firm since its inception in 2010. Rachelle Best, Chris Pass, and Patrick Richmond stay on as Presidents of RT ProExec.
Hugh Mooney has been named President of RT Specialty’s National Property Practice and maintains his role as Regional Executive Vice President. Brenda Austenfeld will remain as CEO of RT National Property. Mooney joined the division post the acquisition of All Risks in 2020 and has been a wholesale industry expert for over two decades.
Ryan Grimes will become President of RT Specialty’s National Casualty Practice and will continue as Regional Executive Vice President. Chris Houska will remain as CEO of RT National Casualty. Grimes joined with the acquisition of All Risks in 2020 and has over two decades of experience.
Leah Ohodnicki will assume the newly created role of Executive Vice President of Carrier Relations, where she will lead the firm’s efforts with RT Specialty’s carrier trading partners. She joins from Ethos P&C, with almost two decades of industry experience.
Marya Propis will remain Executive Vice President, Retail Distribution, a role she has held for nearly three years.
Tim Lomas will become Executive Vice President, Finance, as he nears nine years with the firm. During his tenure, the company developed comprehensive production tools to support retail client and market relationships. In his new role, Lomas will expand into strategic responsibilities while maintaining his commitment to process improvement and client service.
These appointments follow Ryan Specialty’s recent announcement of the RT Specialty Executive Leadership promotions, with Tim Turner’s transition to CEO of Ryan Specialty and Chairman of RT Specialty, Ed McCormack’s promotion to CEO of RT Specialty, and Brenda (Ballard) Austenfeld’s and Michael VanAcker’s promotions to Co-President of RT Specialty on October 1st as well.
