Ryan Specialty announces renewable energy promotions

Ryan Specialty Holdings Inc. said Thursday it has named Katie Davies CEO and Jeff Smith president and chief underwriting officer of its Power.Energy.Risk’s North American operations, its renewable energy managing general underwriter.

Ryan said Ms. Davies will continue to serve as CEO of JEM Underwriting Managers, which specializes in cat property, and of Technical Risk Underwriters, which specializes in builder’s risk.

Mr. Smith will continue as PERse’s chief underwriting officer.

Mike Bernay, PERse’s preceding CEO, who founded it in 2011, will serve as a senior adviser to the business for the next 100 days as he moves into retirement, Ryan said in its announcement.
