Ryan Specialty merges MGUs to form Ryan Specialty Renewables

Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers on Monday announced the formation of Ryan Specialty Renewables, the result of merging managing general underwriters PerSE Americas, PERse International and Albus.
RSUM, part of Ryan Specialty Holdings Inc., also announced organizational changes stemming from the restructuring.
Jeff Smith, president of PERse, was named Ryan Renewables president, North America, and will continue overseeing PERse Americas.
Stuart Burchell, who founded PERse International in 2022, was named Ryan Specialty Renewables president, International.
Mark Engel will continue as CEO of marine and energy for Chicago-based RSUM.
PERse Americas and PERse International were previously formed by Ryan Specialty, and Albus previously was part of Castel Underwriting Agencies, which Ryan Specialty acquired in May 2024.
The new MGU will serve offshore and onshore wind, solar and battery energy storage system assets and offer coverage for operational facilities, construction transit and natural catastrophes.
