Schaefer named Global Head of Casualty & EIL at SCOR Business Solutions

French reinsurer SCOR has appointed Holger Schaefer as Global Head of Casualty & EIL, within SCOR Business Solutions, as of 1st March 2025.
He will replace Daniel Carerras, who took on the role of Chief Underwriting Officer, Casualty, across Insurance and Reinsurance in 2024.
Schaefer is tasked with leading the teams across the US, Europe, and APAC at a time of growth for SCOR Business Solutions. He will be based in Cologne and report to Claire McDonald, CEO of SCOR Business Solutions.
Schaefer previously worked for 35 years at the Allianz Group, holding various senior management positions in underwriting, sales, and distribution.
He dedicated over 15 years to underwriting casualty, serving as Head of Casualty for AGCS Germany. He later became CEO of AGCS Pacific in Sydney and, in his final assignment, served as Regional CEO APAC for Allianz Trade in Hong Kong.
