SCOR names Bourke CEO of L&H for Australia & New Zealand

French reinsurer SCOR has announced the appointment of Paula Bourke as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Life and Health (L&H), Australia & New Zealand, effective immediately.
Bourke brings over 26 years of industry experience to the role, having spent the last eight years at SCOR, most recently as Deputy CEO ANZ & Global Head of Proposition and Innovation, L&H.
The executive joined SCOR in 2016 as the Strategic Head of Underwriting & Claims, L&H and held the position for over six years.
In a statement, the reinsurer commented: “Her strong technical expertise and deep knowledge of the Australian and New Zealand L&H markets are invaluable.
“We are confident that she is well-equipped to excel in this new position to lead the ANZ team and contribute to the development of the local market.”
Prior to SCOR, Bourke served at Westpac for over seven years, holding senior-level positions such as Head of Underwriting and Claims, L&H and National Claims Manager, L&H.
She also served at CommInsure as the Executive Claims Manager, Property & Casulty (P&C) and Claims Manager, L&H. Bourke started her career at GIO in Claims P&C, eventually working as a Training Manager, L&h at AXA.
