Sebastian Lotz joins Beazley as Aviation Underwriter, DACH

Specialty insurer Beazley has announced the appointment of Sebastian Lotz to the newly-created role of Aviation Underwriter, DACH, with immediate effect.

Based in Munich, Lotz will spearhead the development of Beazley’s aviation offerings in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria (DACH region), reporting to Dirk Froese, Head of Aviation.

Lotz brings a wealth of experience to Beazley, with over 18 years in the insurance industry and a deep understanding of the aviation sector.

Prior to joining Beazley, he served as Head of Aviation, Germany, at Marsh, following his role as Senior Placement Broker Liability/Aviation. He joined the company as a Liability Expert in 2021.

Before Marsh, the executive served as Aerospace Practice Leader at AIG, where he was part of the DACH Senior Management Team and an authorised signatory.

Lotz held a number of roles during his eight year tenure with the company, including Acting Head of Aviation, Germany, Senior Underwriter, Aviation, and Underwriter, Aviation.
