Specialty insurer names chief underwriting officer

Roosevelt Road Specialty on Tuesday named Chris Smyth as chief underwriting officer for Renaissance Specialty Insurance, its sports, leisure and entertainment managing general underwriter.

Mr. Smyth, based in New York, previously was program director for the sports and wellness insurance program at Conshohocken, Pennsylvania-based NSM Insurance Group, a managing general agent and insurance program administrator backed by private equity firm The Carlyle Group Inc.

Roosevelt Road Specialty, an MGU unit of Roosevelt Road Capital Partners, provides specialty insurance coverage to various industries, including construction, habitational/real estate, sports and entertainment and senior living care and facilities.
