Specialty MGA UK names Contasta Head of Treaty, LatAm and the Caribbean

Managing general agent (MGA) Specialty MGA UK continues to expand its presence in Latin America with the hire of Humberto Contasta as Head of Treaty, Latin America and the Caribbean.

In his new role, based in Miami, Contasta will use his more than two decades of experience in the industry to increase the firm’s book of business by developing a new marketing plan and building brand awareness.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Humberto to the team, and know that his contacts and knowledge of the Latin American market will be invaluable as we look to grow our presence,” Group Chairman Manoj Kumar commented.

Adding: “I’m sure that he will help us deliver for clients and continue Specialty MGA’s incredible growth so far.”

Contasta is an experienced Property Underwriter with over two decades of industry experience who joins Specialty MGA from OdysseyRe, where he most recently served as Vice President.

Prior to OdysseyRe, he spent 14 years at TransRe where he held a number of positions since joining the firm in 2008 as Underwriting Analyst. During his time at TranRe he also served as Property Treaty Underwriter, Senior Underwriter Property Treaty and Assistant Vice President – Property Treaty Underwriting.
