Sridhar appointed MD for Bulk Purchase Annuities at Canada Life UK

Canada Life, an insurance and financial services company, has announced the appointment of Shreyas Sridhar as Managing Director of Bulk Purchase Annuities (BPA), effective from 7 April 2025 and subject to regulatory approval.

Additionally, Sridhar will also join the Canada Life UK Executive Committee and report to UK Chief Executive Lindsey Rix-Broom.

The executive is succeeding Tim Coulson, who will continue to work with Canada Life in an advisory capacity before retiring at the end of 2025.

Coulson has been part of Canada Life since 2023, when he joined to help the company accelerate its BPA strategy and proposition, enabling the business to capitalise in the growing UK bulk annuities market.

He is an exceptional executive with a wealth of experience and has been instrumental in leading the growth of our bulk annuities business, which continues to go from strength to strength.

“I would also like to express my sincere thanks to Tim for his outstanding leadership and contribution to Canada Life over the last two years. Having strengthened our BPA proposition and successfully built on our strong foundations, Tim has decided now is the right time to move towards retirement. However, we are delighted that he has agreed to continue to support Canada Life for the remainder of this year.”

A highly experienced financial services executive, Sridhar has been with Canada Life UK since February 2024, when he joined as Business Development Director for its BPA business.

Shreyas previously worked as a structured finance and derivatives lawyer. He then spent eight years at Legal & General’s pension risk transfer business, most recently as Head of Reinsurance & International Development.

Before joining Canada Life, he worked in various roles within Legal & General’s pension risk transfer business for eight years.
