Starr hires former AIG D&O leader; names Singapore CEO

Starr Insurance Cos. on Wednesday named Christopher Magee vice president, international head of financial lines and professional liability, and promoted Sean Chen to be CEO of its Singapore unit.

Mr. Magee, who recently moved to New York, was previously London-based head of commercial D&O for American International Group Inc. In the newly created position, he will focus on Starr’s business outside the United States, a Starr statement said.

Mr. Chen has been with Starr for 15 years and was most recently the insurer’s regional manager for Korea, Taiwan and Japan for property, energy and construction. He succeeds Phil Finley as CEO of Starr International Insurance (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. Mr. Finley recently was named CEO of Starr International Insurance (Thailand) Public Co. Ltd. and remains president of Starr’s Asia Pacific region.
