Steve Hutchinson joins Howden Hong Kong as Chief Broking Officer

Global insurance and reinsurance broking group Howden has appointed Steve Hutchinson as Chief Broking Officer of Howden Hong Kong, reporting to Alfred Sham, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Howden Hong Kong, effective immediately.
Hutchinson will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of Howden Hong Kong. This is a part of the group’s broader strategy to grow its total specialty offerings and achieve sustained growth.
Hutchinson will focus on expanding the firm’s capabilities in key sectors, including construction, multinational clients, and large complex accounts, alongside prioritising the development of innovative placement strategies.
Most recently, Hutchinson was Senior Vice President and Risk Management Practice team leader for Marsh Asia based in Hong Kong, focusing on risk and insurance advisory to Hong Kong-domiciled multinational companies.
Prior to this, he held the positions of Construction Specialty and Industry leader for Asia, where he oversaw the development, growth and strategic direction of all regional construction business; and Construction, Power and Utilities Placement leader for Asia, where he oversaw the design and placement of market leading insurance solutions for the construction and power industries.
