Swiss Re CorSo appoints Robert Hunziker as Head of Asia

Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, the commercial insurance arm of the global reinsurer, has appointed Robert Hunziker as Head of Asia (China, Japan, and Southeast Asia).

Readers may recall that this appointment is part of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions’ new organisational structure, featuring Market Units, designed to enhance service to corporates and brokers at the country level.

The new structure, which took effect on June 1, is as follows: Robert Hunziker will lead Asia (Greater China, Japan, Southeast Asia) from Singapore, and Kevin Bates will oversee Australia & New Zealand from Sydney.

Meanwhile James Gasco is responsible for Canada from Toronto; Bruno Mostermans leads France from Paris; Tina Baacke is in charge of Germany (including Austria) from Munich; Angelo Colombo heads Ibero-America, the Middle East & Africa from Madrid; Michael Rüsch oversees Switzerland, Benelux, the Nordics, and Italy from Zurich; Nina Arquint leads the UK & Ireland from London; and Adrian Hall is responsible for the United States from New York.

Hunziker, in particular, is a global insurance professional with almost 20 years of experience in Underwriting, Client Management, Portfolio and Regional Leadership.

Since joining Swiss Re in 2001, he has reportedly held various underwriting and leadership positions across Europe, North America and Asia Pacific.

“Hunziker’s accomplishments include setting up a new Swiss Re subsidiary in Houston (Texas), leading the Group’s North American Energy portfolio across the US and Canada and driving strategic direction across all Lines of Business for the Central and Western US regions,” Swiss Re explained.
