Swiss Re recruits casualty head from CNA

Swiss Re Ltd. said Tuesday that CNA Financial Corp. executive Julie Stephenson will join the reinsurer in the United States as global head of casualty, succeeding Jason Richards who was named country president and CEO U.K. & Ireland.

Previously, Ms. Stephenson was senior vice president and chief operating officer, middle market, in Chicago for CNA. In 2017, she was named one of the Business Insurance Women to Watch.

Mr. Richards joined Swiss Re in 2006 as part of its GE Insurance Solutions acquisition. The head of U.K. and Ireland position has been vacant since Tavaziva Madzinga left to join Kenyan financial services company Britam Holdings PLC in January.
