Symphony Risk hires former WTW senior VP

Symphony Risk Solutions has hired Matt Burns, who was previously a senior vice president of Willis Towers Watson PLC, as president of Symphony Build, its real estate and construction insurance business.

Dallas-based Symphony Risk, which is the brand name for Symphony Risk Enterprises LLC, was formed in 2020 with private equity backing by former Equity Risk Partners CEO Michael Marcon. Hub International Ltd. bought Equity Risk in 2016.

Mr. Burns will also head Symphony Risk’s recently opened Austin, Texas, office, the brokerage said in a statement. The Austin office is the company’s ninth location.

Prior to joining WTW in 2015, Mr. Burns worked at Stephens Insurance LLC and Higginbotham & Associates.
