The Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance said Monday it has promoted Jonathan Habart to director of the captive insurance section.
Mr. Habart, who has served as the section’s acting director since Aug. 3, fills the position left vacant by the departure of previous captive insurance director Belinda Fortman.
Nashville-based Mr. Habart was previously assistant director of the captive insurance section and has been an employee of the department since 2016.
Tennessee ranked as the sixth-largest U.S. captive domicile, with 212 captives licensed in 2020, based on the latest Business Insurance ranking.
